The dull sky
Seemed overlayed
With many different tiers of grey;
Each irregular layer
Making way,
For yet another –
Of a different shade;
And miniature droplets
Seemed to graze
The dewy cheeks
Of the green earth.

Layered curtains of grey
Seemed to part,
For a moment in mirth,
To reveal –
A small patch
Of blue and gold;
And there –
On the other side,
For all to behold –
Was a giant semi-circle
Seemingly anchored
In the distant horizon.

Sporting colors so vivid,
Curves so perfect-
And a charm so elegant,
It brought smiles
To the sweaty lips
Of many a weary traveller!
